About Me

Hi everyone! My name is Emily and I am the creator of this lovely blog and I thought it would be fun to let y’all know a little more about me!

I’m not really sure where to start so I guess I will begin with the people most important to me: my family. I am married to a wonderful man named James and we have an adorable (I admit I’m a bit biased) son named Holden (Hense the name of the blog). These two guys mean the world to me.

We live in the Texas panhandle on a few acres of land. We have horses, a donkey, chickens, ducks, cats, a great pyrenees mix, and 2 spoiled chihauhuas. This sounds like a lot but we live on land so they aren’t all in the house (hehe)! Life at our house is always…. interesting!

I may live in the country now but I’m not you’re typical country girl. I was raised in New Orleans, LA. I will always ways consider New Orleans my childhood home but I have a passion for horses and I could never afford the life I have here in Texas back home. I’m a city girl living a country life and somehow totally thrilled with it all! 😄

I started riding when I was five and began competing in horse shows in college where I was on the equestrian team in western and hunt seat. Long story short, I got really into Arabians, bought a half Arab western pleasure horse, and went right to US Arabian nationals in 2015. Then my husband and I decided to start our family. So we got pregnant and now my horses are pasture potatoes (which I know they don’t mind!! 😋).

So, now I am a full time stay at home mom (before I worked for years in retail). I can honestly say being a mom is the most fulfilling job in the world. I’m just having so much fun with it and I want to share it all with you!
