Stinking diaper bags. It happens!
Whether you use a wet bag, diaper pail, or laundry basket to store your dirty diapers, it’s bound to stink from time to time.
If I don’t keep up with it, Holden’s diapers (and his whole room for that matter) begin to smell like a hamster cage. It’s nasty!
To battle the stink I do these three things:
1. Keep it open so air can get in there. I use a big wet bag that hangs off the side of my changing table. The top of the bag is always open.
2. Sprinkle baking soda in the wet bag (or whatever you keep your dirty diapers in). I do this about twice a day; about every 4 to 5 diaper changes. One tip I suggest is to not sprinkle it around your baby. When you sprinkle it in it creates a little bit of a smokey air effect and you don’t want your sweet little mini breathing that in. Just sprinkle then let it settle before bringing baby around that area.Ā
3. Wash your diapers every 2-3 days. This will keep them nice and fresh!
NOTE: I keep the poopie diapers in a diaper pail in our bathroom. I just use the wet bag for pee. Click here to learn about how I deal with poopie diapers!

-much love always!! š
I use a plastic laundry basket with tons of holes along the sides. No liner, no lid. Maximum airflow and light help the diapers dry out quickly so there’s no funk!

Nice! Yea, air is definitely the key to keeping the stink down. I have found that my son’s pee is just a little more stinky than some kiddos. He’s both breast and formula fed so maybe it’s the formula? He’s just a stinky heavy wetter. š
